Blade Heel cup

A ramp for the heel.

Shoe horn questions

Which shoe horn length should I choose?

Pick by where you put shoes on: 4 or 6 inches for a bag, 12 from a chair, 24 or 31 standing. Longer horns mean less bending over. For tall boots, or if you're tall, choose 31.

Is a metal or plastic shoe horn better?

Both work. Plastic is lighter and cheaper, but it can turn brittle and crack with age. Steel doesn't age that way, though it can bend if you lean on it.

Does a stainless steel shoe horn bend?

It can, if you lean on it. Any metal strip bends under enough leverage, and a longer horn gives more. Guide your heel down the blade and keep your weight off the horn.

Do metal shoe horns scratch shoes?

They can if angled or forced. Keep the blade flat against the back of the shoe and slide your heel down it; any hard edge can scrape a soft lining.

Will it work with my boots?

Yes, if the blade fits between your heel and the back of the boot. Tall boots need a longer horn, because the back of the boot is taller. Loosen laces or open zips first.

Does it come in a box?

No. It's supplied loose, without a box. For a gift-boxed horn, see CAFFREY Royal Touch.

What if it arrives damaged?

Email info@caffrey.ca as soon as it arrives. Our refund policy asks you to report damaged, defective or wrong items right away, so we can look into it and make it right.

Product details

The CAFFREY Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Shoe Horn gives your heel a smooth guide into your shoe. Its polished steel blade fits between your heel and the back of the shoe, helping you slip in without pushing down the heel collar.

Choose your reach

Available in 4, 6, 12, 24 and 31-inch lengths. Choose for the way you put on your shoes, rather than your shoe size.

  • 4 and 6 inches: compact options for keeping your hand close to the shoe.
  • 12 inches: a middle length for extra reach.
  • 24 and 31 inches: longer options that bring the handle closer to you.

Measure from your hand to the back of your shoe in a comfortable seated or standing position. Height, footwear and reach affect which length suits you.

Quality in the details

The polished stainless steel surface and shallow formed curve give your heel a smooth path into the shoe. The blade continues into a turned steel handle.

  • Smooth against your heel: your heel moves along the polished metal face, helping it pass the shoe collar without pushing the back down.
  • Curved and rounded: the shallow blade follows the back of your heel, with a rounded tip that sits inside the shoe.
  • A turned handle: the curved end gives your fingers a place to grip. The compact style shown also has a hole for hanging beside your shoes.

How to use

  1. Loosen laces or open fastenings. Place the blade inside the back of the shoe, with the inner curve facing your heel.
  2. Ease your foot in, letting the heel glide along the steel.
  3. Draw the horn upward as your heel settles into place.

Use where the blade fits comfortably between your heel and the shoe. A shoe horn helps with entry; it does not stretch the shoe or increase its size.

How it is supplied
